SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT/CALL FOR ONLINE PARTICIPATION

The Environment and COVID-19 (EC-19) Research Group and Network of Space-Earth Environmentalists jointly hereby announces the 9^th Annual Professor Ekundayo E. Balogun International Symposium on Atmospheric Research. Emeritus Professor Ekundayo E. Balogun is of the Department of Physics, Obafemi Awolowo University OAU and was the pioneer Executive Director of the United Nations African Regional Centre for Space Science Technology Education for English Speaking countries UN-ARCSSTE-E located within the Campus of OAU. He was the chairman of the national committee of top space scientists that drafted the first ever Nigerian space policy during the Military regime in early 90’s. His dedicated service at OAU, legacies at ARCSSTE-E (1998-2005), passionate mentorship and high-level research output on global front are exhibits of his great contributions to the global community.

Invited presentation

This one-day symposium shall feature presentations on the life and contributions of Professor E. E.  Balogun to the development of Space Science in developing nations and atmospheric research in particular. This edition shall last for 2 hours and shall feature talks on Applications of AI in atmospheric sciences, climate smart agriculture project and results obtained by the EC-19 research group.
